Jyotsna Shourie is nationally and internationally acclaimed as a dancer of excellence who has remained committed to her art for over 6 decades. She performed her Arangetram at the age of 10, under the guidance of the illustrious Gurus of the Sri Rajarajeshwari Bharata Natya Kala Mandir, Mumbai.

Jyotsna has performed for cultural and charitable associations throughout India and danced abroad extensively, in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, the Czech Republic, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

In 1990 she established her Dance Centre and has trained a number of aspiring dancers who have graduated to becoming soloists in their own right, some going on to pursue the art professionally. Scripting, conceptualizing and choreographing her innovative dance dramas has brought Jyotsna into the limelight as there is always something novel in her shows. She seamlessly combines dance and music of different genres, introduces audio -visuals and film in her productions and delves deeply into our epics, and mythology taking the novice into her fold.

In 2014 Shourie founded The Divinity Series, a Festival of Dance and Music bringing renowned artists to perform in the Capital. She also founded Learning From the Masters, where aspiring dancers interacted with experienced seniors in workshops to gain greater skills and a deeper understanding of the art.
